The Program Ready-to-Invest Innovative SME (PIM) offers support to SMEs in North Holland that help solve a social problem in an innovative way. Alleo proved to be an ideal candidate within the theme of Health and Care. PIM consultant Pieter Verstijnen: “Thanks to Alleo, SMEs can easily focus on mental and physical well-being. Through the accessible platform, employees can choose the secondary benefits that suit their personal situation and interests. Think of access to a gym subscription, a mental coach, or a financial planner. This employee benefits platform directly contributes to the health and well-being of workers. And it perfectly aligns with the missions of the national innovation policy.”
The central missions in the field of health and care:
- By 2040, all Dutch people will live at least five years longer in good health, and health disparities between the lowest and highest socio-economic groups will have decreased by 30 percent.
- By 2040, the disease burden from an unhealthy lifestyle and environment will have decreased by 30 percent.
From business plan to investment round
The support from PIM consists of tailored advice, masterclasses, and online guidance. Together with the Alleo team, it was determined what was needed to prepare the company for an investment round. Verstijnen and colleague advisor Hans Janssen helped formulate the right strategy and prepare a winning pitch deck. This has led to an initial successful investment round, in which 500,000 euros were raised. The Dutch venture capital fund Dutch Founders Fund leads the funding round, further supplemented by a range of renowned entrepreneurs.

They also examined the structure, layout, and content of the required documentation. Thanks to their expertise, we entered the investment discussions well-prepared.”
